Class Description

CHI Professional Development is providing the CE's. Special Day Self Care is providing the advisor certificate. This course is for licensed mental health professionals and social workers. Upon completing this course, participants will gain the skills necessary to conduct cannabis consultations and evaluations for medical marijuana card referrals. This course provides a framework and approaches for licensed professionals to have a better understanding of clients cannabis usage and how to guide their clients in this process. The Medical Cannabis Advisor Course is an advanced training to learn more about the cannabis as a plant and as medicine for medical and adult use - best known as recreational cannabis. Participants will learn the in depth the reason why cannabis works and how it can be use for therapeutic interventions or self-care purposes according to state laws. Participants will be able to: 1. Advocate for clients to access services, human rights, and social and economic justice. 2. Attend to professional role and apply knowledge gained to meet the needs of assigned clients. 3. Recognize and manage personal biases to allow professional practice to make ethical decisions when it comes to cannabis related matters. 4. Provide education and guidance to the community and others. 5. Plan and facilitate cannabis workshops and events 6. Engage in social change to help remove the stigma attached to seeking help and using cannabis as a treatment method 7. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, colleagues and peers in the cannabis field due to having a better understanding of cannabis as a plant, medicine and more. In this 7h course, participants will receive the class material and presentation. Participants will be asked to participate virtually and be engaged to ensure a positive learning experience. Participants are required to be present for 5h and 2h of independent study to complete case study, post-test and course evaluation. These topics will be discussed in order to provide a basic understanding of cannabis as medicine. In order for CHI Professional Development to award you a Certificate of Completion, I am required to obtain certain information from you. The information requested is dependent on what course you are taking.

Course Completion Requirements

·         Sign into the workshop on time. We will start promptly and there will be a cutoff for entry.

·         You are required to stay logged in and actively participate throughout the entire presentation.

·         Your attendance will be verified by the logon information provided by ZOOM.

·         Once the course is completed and your attendance is verified, you will receive a link to the course survey.

·         After completion of the survey, you will have the opportunity to print or download a PDF copy of your certificate.

·         Your Opinion Matters

·         To be granted access to your certificate of completion, you are required to complete the Course Survey.
