Course Description Clients with Narcissistic Personality present with grandiosity, anger, entitlement, and defensive traits. This course provides an overview on the etiology of this disorder, specific symptoms, and details about evidence based practice. Clinicians will learn about underlying Shame, Anger, Aggression, Perfectionism, and lack of empathy. This course will also focus on Co-occurring disorders that are correlated with Narcissistic personality. The speaker will discuss ways to help clients identify their symptoms, develop insight, and work on Treatment Goals. Course Objectives Identify three effective interventions to use with clients who have Narcissistic Personality Name four common Narcissistic traits that need to be addressed Recall the role of Shame and Anger as underlying emotional problems for this population Name three etiological factors that lead to the development of Narcissistic personality About the Instructor Dr. Feldman has 30 years of experience as a Clinical Director, Psychotherapist, and Supervisor. He is currently the Clinical Director at Journey to Wellness Substance Abuse Program in NJ. He has taught numerous clinical topics as an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University MSW Program since 1995. As a professional speaker, he has presented more than 350 Clinical Seminars. He is also the author of "The Psychotherapy Manual," "Co-Occurring Disorders Manual, " and "Shame Affect-Theory, Research and Clinical Treatment" (on amazon.com). He completed his PhD at Rutgers University.
