Shifting the Paradigm - Post Pandemic

Wed | | July 13 | 6pm-8pm EST | 2 CE's | Ellen Blaufox, LCSW-R

Class Description

Our bodies are not machines. There are real biological scientific reasons our clients can't struggle to utilize the skills and practices we teach them, especially in the time of COVID. This workshop provides space for helpers to shift their mindset around "problematic clients" and offers innovative, fun, modern approaches to such cognitive behavioral therapy interventions as challenging cognitive distortions, identifying triggers, setting boundaries, mindfulness & most significantly, action /treatment Plans. Structured as a teaching group, this workshop encourages interactive participant involvement for changing patterns and integrating new skills with our clients (and ourselves). Learning Objectives 1.) Provide clear and helpful psychoeducation for trauma, chronic stress, and complex trauma related to the pandemic and how these impact bodies, minds, & spirits. 2.) Collaborate with clients to identify negative coping strategies and self-sabotaging patterns better. 3.) Expand their definition of triggers to encompass all the Senses and let go of a strictly "narrative" approach to treatment. 4.) Utilize Mindfulness and CBT for accessing their own intuition, thus, ensuring better adherence to treatment plans. Ellen Blaufox has accumulated more than twenty years of both clinical and practical experience as a Therapist, Executive Coach, and Professional Speaker. She knows that the key ingredients in a therapeutic relationship are safety, transparency, and, most importantly, optimism and hope. Ellen's clinical know-how traverses the human lifespan with particular expertise in the transitions we go through as we move into adulthood, across various milestones (identity, career, family), and into aging. Ellen will guide you as you shift out of that "stuck" feeling that comes from unconscious habits, patterns, and negative thinking. She empowers you to make the positive changes in your life that you desire by promoting health and wellbeing. Ellen's approach to therapy is collaborative and solution-focused. She utilizes proven, evidence-based methods in various modalities (individual, family, and group). She has particular expertise with survivors of complex stress, trauma, and issues related to social injustice. Her understanding of trauma is particularly helpful for those struggling with the challenges associated with the current global pandemic.
