Class Description

Most religions and cultures say you have a soul. However, they do not usually tell you what it is for. This workshop will explain from a Transpersonal Psychology perspective that a soul is an entity which is regarded as being the immortal or spiritual part of a person. It is credited with the functions of thinking and willing; hence it determines behavior. It is said to also be a pattern for the individual’s life. Differences between the conscious and unconscious parts of the mind will be discussed and how they work together. The Jungian term synchronicity will be taught and discussed. A large part of our existence is determined to the degree we grow in spiritual awareness regardless of race, color or culture. One part of this awareness is realizing that death doesn’t end life. Death is the beginning of our energy in another place and reunites us with our loved ones Jungian and Transpersonal psychologies are the best methods for understanding the soul as these psychologies explore multiple states of consciousness including waking, dreaming and various contemplative states. They also encompass experiences both within and outside of religious traditions.
