What are your colleagues and neighbors saying about the WTF sessions?
This is an unfiltered list of reviews from participants in the WTF session. I will continue to update it as more feedback comes in. The course explores policies and examines whether licensed professionals have an ethical responsibility to respond—and if so, what tools they can use to effect change.
Before you register
To keep this program sustainable, there is a $10 fee per person or community group to join each session. Groups are encouraged to meet in person and join the call together using one Zoom link. As a small business owner, I am unable to offer free attendance to everyone at this time because Zoom charges me based on the number of registrations, and I cannot afford to cover costs for people who sign up but do not attend.
However, I never want cost to be a barrier to participation. If you are a concerned community member who wants to attend but cannot afford the fee, please reach out—exceptions will be made, and no questions will be asked.
What is the goal of the WTF:
Policies That Threaten Social Justice series?
The goal is to empower communities, social workers, mental health professionals, and advocates to unite and challenge policies that harm marginalized populations and engaged concerned community members.
Awareness
Identify and analyze policies that harm vulnerable populations in areas such as housing, healthcare, immigration, criminal justice, and civil rights.
Collaboration
Engage in open, solution-focused discussions where community voices are centered, ensuring that lived experiences guide the conversation.
Impact
Explore the real-world impact of these policies on individuals, families, and communities.
Change
Create tangible pathways for advocacy and policy reform, whether through local organizing, legislative efforts, or direct action.
Action
Foster collective action by equipping both professionals and community members with tools to advocate for change.
Community
Community is the foundation of lasting change, driven by the voices and leadership of those directly impacted by harmful policies.
Each session is interactive, inclusive, and community-driven, making space for real dialogue, real experiences, and real change. By uniting professionals with the communities they serve, this series strengthens collective power to fight for social justice and policy transformation.

More About the Program
This is not about politics—it’s about social justice. The series will examine how policies in areas such as housing, healthcare, immigration, and civil rights disproportionately impact vulnerable communities, particularly those affected by poverty and systemic inequality. The goal is to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to advocate effectively, regardless of professional background.
Each session will be facilitated by Michael Chiappone, LCSW, and Katheryn Krase, PhD, JD, MSW, both experienced educators and advocates in social policy and ethics. Additionally, guest speakers—experts in various policy areas—will provide critical insights and real-world perspectives.
Through interactive discussions and collaborative learning, participants will explore ethical dilemmas created by harmful policies and develop actionable strategies for advocacy and change.
