The principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
The mechanism of action of commonly used psychotropic medications, and their therapeutic effects and side effects

Explain the basic principles of pharmacology
Describe the mechanism of action of commonly used psychotropic medications, including antidepressants, antipsychotics, anxiolytics, & mood stabilizers
Analyze the therapeutic effects & side effects of psychotropic medications
Evaluate the role of medication in the treatment of mental health disorders, including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, & substance use disorders
Develop strategies for effective communication with patients about the benefits and risks of psychotropic medication use
