Class Description
Providing Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Transgender Clinical Services. According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, The National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Standards (CLAS) are a way to improve the quality of services provided to all individuals to help reduce health disparities and achieve health equity. These days transgender visibility and its corresponding lexicon are ever-expanding and evolving, which makes providing culturally and linguistically appropriate services even more challenging. This workshop will illustrate how to provide an effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality of care that is responsive to the needs of your transgender consumer. Course Content: Beginners, Intermediate You will learn: - Identify the US Department of Health and Human Services Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Standards (CLAS). - Describe the National CLAS Standards Action Steps. - Apply appropriate terminology with transgender consumers. - Develop services attentive to the health literacy of consumers Recommend Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate resources Instructors: Zander Keig, MSW, LCSW, BCD is an award-winning social worker: 2020 National Social Worker of the Year, 2018 California Social Worker of the Year, public speaker, educator, and author, as well as a sought-after diversity workshop facilitator and trainer (including WPATH Advanced Behavioral Health Courses), and longtime national trans community organizer.

· Sign into the workshop on time. We will start promptly and there will be a cutoff for entry.
· You are required to stay logged in and actively participate throughout the entire presentation.
· Your attendance will be verified by the logon information provided by ZOOM.
· Once the course is completed and your attendance is verified, you will receive a link to the course survey.
· After completion of the survey, you will have the opportunity to print or download a PDF copy of your certificate.
