Discovering Intergenerational Patterns

Jan. 23 | 9am-11am EST | 2 CE's | Lavinia Barbu - LCSW

Class Description

Discovering Intergenerational Patterns with the Art of Genogram and Mindfulness Unaddressed wounds and patterns from the past can often continue to cause us harm in the present. Taking time to explore our past with an extended genogram that goes 3-4 generations back we discover dysfunctional habits and unhealthy connections that keep us struck. The genogram is used by therapists and other medical professionals as an assessment tool for intergenerational patterns. With Mindfulness we bring these patterns to awareness to understand them and let go, to neutralize and release from our life completely. Once we commit to letting go of old emotional baggage that no longer serves us, we will achieve closure on the past and move forward in our life with a new sense of freedom, peace, and empowerment. Instructors: This is an experiential course led by Lavinia Barbu, LCSW and Yoga Instructor. Lavinia Barbu is a LCSW and has worked with children, adolescents and adults from all walks of life in various clinic settings in and around NYC area. Now she teaches wellness classes focusing on breath and breathing, mindfulness, relaxation techniques, stress -reductions, body scanning and meditation. Lavinia has a Master Degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and in 2018 she completed 1 year training as a Life Coach also from New York University. She is fascinated about the mind and body connection and promotes movement and proper breathing at any age.
