This highly interactive Workshop employs didactic, as well as experiential learning. The use of media, arts & culture are also used for instructional purposes to allow for different participant learning styles and creativity. The Workshop provides a rare opportunity for clinicians and helping professionals to discuss the impact of counter-transference and compassion fatigue on treatment. In this Workshop, participants will learn Learning Objectives 1. Participants actively engage in learning and practicing concrete treatment interventions that interrupt the self-harm cycle. 2. Participants will learn to reframe their client’s self-harm as an effort to avoid experiencing or re- experiencing trauma and chronic stress. 3. Clinician counter-transference will be discussed, as will strategies for reducing it’s impact on the re-enactment of the trauma cycle in therapy. Ellen Blaufox has accumulated more than twenty years of both clinical and practical experience as a Therapist, Executive Coach, and Professional Speaker.
