Class Description

The Science of Hope - How Hope Facilitates Healing and Wellness Hope is not just a concept, it is a tool that can play a crucial role in helping people. During this human experience, hope can assist people to reach their goals, find happiness, and improve their health and wellbeing. With my extensive experience in social work and as a continuing education provider, I will walk you through the science of hope: how it works with our mind and body to improve health, how it looks and, how to foster hope when feeling hopeless. In this course, you will develop a deeper understanding of just how important hope is to your client's overall quality of life. Course Objectives: After attending the course, participants will be able to -identify evidence based theories of hope - discuss the four types of hope - describe the physical, cognitive and emotional benefits of hope - learn how to measure hope - discover how to engage clients in fostering hope Presented By: Michael Chiappone, LCSW has been a Social Worker for the past 17 years. His work has primarily focused on assisting people who are homeless, mentally ill or living with Substance Use Disorder. He also sees clients who seek help for a variety of reasons. For most of his career, he worked at Hope House Ministries, a highly respected not-for-profit agency. He held two positions at Hope House: a Director of Project Hope II, a program that worked specifically with the chronic homeless population, and he assisted in the development and implementation of Hope Academy, a non-traditional, long-term treatment facility for substance abuse. Currently, he works full-time as a Clinic Manager at a Suffolk County SUD treatment facility. Target Audience: Licensed Masters and Clinical Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, Counselors, Outreach workers, Psychologists, Substance Use Disorder clinicians. Course Content: Intermediate

It is necessary for all the participants of the workshop to have the capability of video and audio as this workshop is interactive and participant interaction is required. You are able to interact with the lecturer by using the chat function or verbally (if you have a working microphone).

 

How to Register

The email will contain information, link and password, to join ZOOM for the course. You will also receive the information to join the class 24hrs before the class starts. 

 

Requirements for Registration

In order for CHI Professional Development to award you a Certificate of Completion, I am required to obtain certain information from you. The information requested is dependent on what course you are taking.

·         Sign into the workshop on time. We will start promptly and there will be a cutoff for entry.

·         You are required to stay logged in and actively participate throughout the entire presentation.

·         Your attendance will be verified by the logon information provided by ZOOM.

·         Once the course is completed and your attendance is verified, you will receive a link to the course survey.

·         After completion of the survey, you will have the opportunity to print or download a PDF copy of your certificate.
